| So I am finally getting a power amp to use with my E530. I purchased a used VHT 2/50/2. I know a lot of people say for the 2/90/2 but I got a great deal on the 2/50/2 and come on...it's VHT! haha I also ordered a new avatar cabinet with Vintage 30's and G12K100's in an X pattern. My cab comes in Wednesday and the power amp should be here early next week. It's going to be the balls to have the E530 with the VHT and a new cab. I'll post pics as soon as I get everything in. |

sorry to hijack your thread. I just want to add something to the E530 preamp.
the FX loop send of E530 is very low (instrument output), so I tend to use the line output instead to feed my g-major and then my amp. But it sounds a bit different, maybe due to the SS path of the line out . Checking the schematics of other Engl amp, it seems easy to add an extra tube to bypass the SS line out.
BTW, the avatar cab with Vintage 30's and G12K100's in an X pattern seems a pretty bad ass combination. nice touch. _________________ A wrong note on a great guitar through a great amp is still a wrong note. ♪♫

I have thought it better, and the problem is the FX loop send is high Z ~47k, and the Input Z of G-major is ~13k. This gives ~13dB of loss. So I will need a buffer connected there.
That's way after the return there is a 'buffer', meaning change the high Z to low Z and raising the signal to line level. _________________ A wrong note on a great guitar through a great amp is still a wrong note. ♪♫

| No problem with the hijacking. You actually bring up a good point. I have a G-major and will be using it with my E530 so I'll have to see what works best. |

alright so my avatar cab and VHT power amp came in. The E530 sounds awesome into the VHT. Lot's of power. Lots of tone.

sweet looking gear but you are not running the G-major there. I only see the Digitech GSP 1101. _________________ A wrong note on a great guitar through a great amp is still a wrong note. ♪♫ |
