There is just not that many ENGL users compared to other amps. Judging by all the endorsement deals that have been happening lately, that's probably going to change pretty soon.

I'm new to the ENGL amps so not much to offer right now, sorry. Had my Powerball for a couple weeks. Been using the Randall MTS system for a while. There's some good info here for sure. Maybe kind of bold for a noob post but I was thinking you might ask that guy Englnoob why this forum doesn't get much action. I'm sure he'd have an opinion.

yeah, i took my e570 preamp to 2 different "authorized" engl dealers/repair shops and they were surprised to even see one...

Not many users over in southern california, and the few engls I've seen over here have generally been owned by rich kids who aren't even interested in gear.

Very sad to hear that. Probably Engl is more european kinda sound?

ENGL blows the doors off anything the music stores around here carry.

Here in San Diego, Ca. I can't even find one in a store to test one out. I know I can buy one online, but I need to try one for myself first. I haven't even been able to locate one in Los Angeles ether.

The San Diego shop that is going to carry them has yet to open its new store were it will display them. I know they have been around for a while but they need to get into some bigger stores. They need to attack the west coast here in the states a bit better. I can always go Boogie, they are all over the place.

So yeah, I don't even own one, but here I am.

yeah this forum is a bit slow. I'm bummed about it. I'm always looking to read more and engage in conversations about these amps but there isn't much talk out there about them. I wish there was more traffic here but I guess most Engl users are busy types who just don't post or as someone else said, just not many out there. Do you think there are more Diezel amps out there for an example? Lots of talk for them. Let's take a look at rig-talk.com. They have a forum with dedicated forums for a bunch of amps, many MUCH smaller than Engl. I hate to say it, but it really seems as if their is an Engl bias, the usual comments, build quality, customer service, price, blah, blah. My opinion is that ALL companies have their ups and down with this sort of thing but Engl can't seem to shake this. I'd like to see dedication sub forums for Engl as well as this one so we have various places to check out.

Long story short... no idea why this forum is so slow. NO idea why there isn't much Engl talk ANYWHERE! It seems sevenstring.org is the only safe place to mention "Engl' without someone screaming build quaility, solid-state sounding troll garbage at you.

Engl User: Sir do you own one?
Forum Troll: NO! They don't cut in the mix!
Engl User: How do you know that?
Forum Troll: Cuz the build quality sucks!
Engl User: umm again, do you have one?
Forum Troll: I have a used Peavy cuz Mommy won't buy me an Engl!
Engl User: oh.

Laughing excellent post.
In my opinion, Engl is not so popular in the USA which is a very big market. Plus the fact that their amps are a bit expensive as well.
BTW, why this forum is called Unofficial? It seems that Engl don't care about it.

This is a slow forum definitely compared to others I have been on. Maybe it's because people who buy ENGL are satisfied with their amps and enjoy playing their ENGL's rather than writing about them on a forum. lol I've seen people on the boogie board go through every single boogie amp they have made and never be happy with any of them and they are always talking about how great the amp sounds and in 3 months they don't like it. I don't see that on this forum much. For the most part I see satisfied customers. Of course there are some people that have had problems but if ENGL's had such bad quality as people on other forums say they do I think you would see it more often and have a lot more people complaining. Like brewskimetal said with his mock dialouge, most people who bad mouth ENGL have never even played on one and are just saying what they heard someone else on a forum say.

Wait, people bad mouth ENGL? I guess I don't really go on too many forums, but anytime I'm at a show (I live in Minneapolis), whenever talk gets to amps, ENGL is basically referred to as the holy grail. I've only seen 2 other dudes play through ENGL here and whenever I mention I play a Powerball, other guitarists' eyes light up.

In the USA they don't sell them in Guitar Center so most here haven't even seen one let alone hear one in person. They are just scarce.

I'm still waiting to demo one. I don't mind if GC doesn't carry them, but they need to get them in the stores over here.

But to bash something you know nothing about is just ignorant.

I've been using Carvin amps for awhile now because the factory is only a mile away. It's Awesome being able to walk in a test out the latest stuff they got.

As for Engl I'm waiting for this small guitar repair shop to move into their new location here in San Diego (String Masters) so they can have enough room to display the product.

I also found out through them that Engl has no Distributor here in the USA with a werehouse so if you need to order something its a long wait.

ENGL is a really small company, just a few people working there (see the fotos at their site). Many amps (like the e530) are produced on demand, even for the german market.
Itīs more like a small family.
The great thing about ENGL is, we can speak only about really small unimportant things (cab wood, tube manufacturers, minor problems with parts and electronics). The most important thing is always there, the great ENGL sound.

Actually that's true. Looking the company pictures in the Engl webpage, it seems a very small company. It's a shame because they have owned a good reputation and they could sell a lot more.

After playing Randall's for years I was ready to move to a higher end boutique style amp. I did a lot of research because there's nothing available around here where I can go try out anything unless I want a Marshall or some other piece of crap that gets pushed on everyone....so I checked out everything I could online. Looked into Fryette/VHT, Egnater, Diezel, Bogner, Framus...then I saw some videos of the Powerball. I bought one without even trying it out and I couldn't be happier. This amp just blows away everything else that I've ever played.

Here in Florida there is absolutely no people that have Engl have heard of them. For instance I played a loomis cover of azure haze at my schools talent show and i used my engl and after all the guitarists were like dude is that a custom made amp, And none had ever seen or heard one. I'm the only person in my area that has one and I feel like a minority but I'm glad to have the best tone in my area.

Well, there was Rocksolidamps in the Ft. Lauderdale area and even the Guitar Center here in Orlando has a Steve Morse head in stock and it's been there for like 8 months. Also I'm in Florida and own one lol so we can't say that no one in the state of Florida knows of them! lol Alpha Kinetix is a certified repair place and they are in Pompani. Velvet Distribution is located in Naples.

I think they should keep it small. Companies seem to go down the crapper when they get bigger. I really do think other companies spend a lot more on marketing and it's really disturbing how many people buy stuff based on advertisements.

lol I used to work live in Lakeworth and work in Boca. That's a tough place for metal fans! lol Most of the music scene in that area is cheesetastic.

Rocksolidamps just disappeared. They were one of the coolest websites around!
